What is Success?
What is the definition of Success?
How do you measure success?
What is in a successful person?
I was wondering of the word success and looked into the dictionary (Oxford Dictionary; 7th Edition) and it is defined as:
1. the fact that you have achieved something that you want and have been trying to do or get; the fact of becoming rich or famous or of getting a high social position.
2. a person or thing that has achieved a good result and has been successful.
Then I search also for the word successful and found the following as the meaning:
1. achieving your aims or what is intended
2. having become popular and/or made a lot of money
Then I realized that success is mostly defined in terms of your possession, money and social position as well as result and these are all about material and quantitative measures. But why? How about other contributions? Emotional aspect? Isn't it an important part as well? Or is it because it is not able to be measured?
How could the world not turned into a world which demands for status, money and possession if they are already indirectly taught in school the meaning of success in such a way?
Where is humanities in this concept? Does this mean that if not earning lots of money, not having good results, not in high social position and or not becoming popular is not successful?
Is this the teaching that we will bring along to the younger generations and forever?
Disappointed by the fact of life in this manner.
It is all about what we see, what we feel, and what triggers our senses to think and act in a certain way.. Everyday is a new experience as everyday is a new day. (关于我们每天看到的,感觉到的 和能引起脑细胞的每个小东西! 这就是我的想法。。 “每天都是个美好的开始”)

Materialistic or Realistic?
Suddenly thought of this issue and realized that people nowadays are growing to be more Materialistic rather than Realistic.
Why is that so?
Is it because of the advancement in technology, increase in communication and competition that makes people more materialistic?
People are now always thinking about future, where their future image lies in how much money they will gain, what will they have in future.. an apartment, a luxury car and etc.
Even children nowadays are comparing who have the best technology among them, best mobile phone, most advance gadgets.... But what does this attitude takes us to?
A world full of debts?
We just can't be able to achieve all those at top level and always be one step ahead of people in terms of technology and or possession, hence bribery occurs. Where is the realistic side of us?
Isn't it as long as we are able to survive, have a place to live, no worries in terms of food and clothes or perhaps aim for a source of transportation and extra savings in case of emergency and that is totally enough?
But No... everyone are aiming to have the best of everything causing people to suffer and selfish.
No one helps each other with sincerity and genuine heart anymore... All expected a return, thus making those receiving feels the pressure too.
I too realize that as days past by, I eventually affected by the "disease" of materialism. was always thinking of possession rather than being realistic and these thinking is eating me up day by day.. thus making me feel more miserable as time passes by.
Now, also thanks to the drama I said earlier, I need to be realistic instead if materialistic, trying to release myself from those unnecessary thoughts and step back into reality. What is more important than having a healthy, happy and save life as compared to worrying of being in the top of the world with the possession that you may loss one day and constantly competing with others to stay at that point of time?
We should all review our future once again and try to get rid of those materialistic thoughts and be realistic today and in the future. That will eventually release your burden and decreases the pressure felt in you and with others as well as increasing the sense of fulfillment.

What is Important?
After watching a japanese drama based on a true story of a girl with a disease that can't be cured, for me now.. What is important is the chance to stay alive.
In live, we as human demands a lot and never been satisfied. Why?
Isn't many of us are actually very lucky to be able to stay alive?
At least we have a future that can be explored and a world that will expand as we grow
However, we are never satisfy.. Perhaps we are too comfortable that is why we are never satisfy
Have we actually stop and think of those who have no future to think about?
They can only be living in the present and appreciate every moment of it as the future is just too blur for them to even see it?
Their world is shrinking day by day and they are fighting and doing the best they can to stay alive no matter what..
In all that we are demanding, we should be demanding to have such optimistic and determined spirit that they have and nothing else.
Human that are too comfortable should actually expand their knowledge and understanding of the nature and world by approaching those unfortunate people with diseases that are unable to be cured and help them in fulfilling their dreams of having the chance of curing it or slowing down the process of the development of the disease in order for them to enjoy more of the life that they should be going through as a normal human.
As for us the normal human beings who are healthy should stop demanding for more and start appreciating the life that we have now and live the best out of it!
Stop complaining!
